Industry Professionals Find Great Benefit in the CPIPSM

“The certification process is integral to the development of individuals both within their specialty and as a contributor to their organization as a whole. The certification process trains professionals in the fundamentals of their area of expertise,” said Ron Branning, VP Commercial Quality, Genentech, Inc. “The CPIP credential incorporates essential interactions with their colleagues in associated functional areas. Certification is a win for individuals, the industry, and the patients we serve.”

“The CPIP demonstrates that a professional has the broad industry knowledge and experience to apply competencies that achieve cost-effective, risk-based approaches, innovation, quality-by-design, and continuous improvement,” said Russ Somma, PhD, PCC Chair. “This shows them as highly-valuable to employers, while giving them increased professional opportunities, respect and recognition, and personal satisfaction.”

"I pursued the certificate to evaluate the content and necessary level of knowledge to be able to support the initiative from ISPE and the ISPE-PCC. I think the lack of a formal engineering degree covering pharmaceutical engineering makes the credential very relevant, filling a gap,” said Anders Brummerstedt, MSc, CPIP, NNE Pharmaplan. ”As the credential is not yet very well known in our business, the value is yet to be seen. However, for me personally the process has been fun and rewarding. It means that I have proven to myself that at least some of the knowledge and experience I have picked up through more than 10 years within many different fields in the industry is in line with what is necessary to be awarded the credential. It also makes me focus on continuously to develop knowledge and experience on a personal level and to further support development and improvement initiatives in my daily work with employees, colleagues and customers. I will strongly recommend others to go through the process of reading the Study Guide, and further to pursue the certificate if they feel confident to do so.”

“I am proud to receive the CPIP credential,” said Andrew A. Signore, PE, PMP–DBIA, CPIP, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, IPS. “Certification holders have demonstrated their knowledge and experience in key competencies that achieve cost-effective, risk-based approaches, innovation, quality by design, and continuous improvement. The CPIP credential is a strong indication of achieving industry competency, technical knowledge, professionalism and dedication to influencing greater drug product quality for industry peers, clients, and consumers worldwide.”
