PCC Mission Statement
The ISPE Professional Certification Commission (PCC) is dedicated to enhancing the image and promoting the skills of pharmaceutical and biotechnology drug manufacturing industry product/process/facility development and manufacturing professionals and raising the bar on product quality and manufacturing efficiency by being the premier provider of credentials for this industry. The ISPE-PCC accomplishes this mission by: establishing criteria for the critical skills, expertise, experience, and knowledge needed for working in this highly regulated industry; creating fair, valid, and reliable assessments through which professionals can demonstrate the programs requirements; and communicating the value of the credential(s) to consumers and other key industry constituencies.
The key responsibilities of the PCC are to:
- Create the Commission's operating policies and procedures
- Organize committees and appoint committee members
- Determine credential candidate eligibility criteria
- Establish performance domains
- Oversee the processing of applications
- Develop/administer assessments
- Award/deny the credential
- Process appeals
- Establish policies (conflict of interest, confidentiality, ethics issues, fiduciary responsibility, etc.)
